Dawn (…and she emerged from the lake, with fire in her hands)
Dawn is the first of three pieces making up the
triptych Dawn-Day-Dusk. It represents sunrise with low, rich chords in the orchestra, which ascend throughout the pieces with decorated solos which lead the progress.
The work is dedicated to Kremerata Baltica on the celebration of their 10th anniversary and Gidon Kremer on his 60th birthday.
